My name is Mr. Plaster and I'm an English teacher (and department chair) and the Reading Specialist at Lexington Senior High School, where it is my fourth year at the school and eighth as a public school teacher. I am proud to be at LSHS where I can make a true contribution to the school and community in the county where I grew up. I enjoy teaching writing and literature and have more than fifteen years of experience in training, writing and literary study. I taught my first four years in public schools at Ledford High School, where my English I classes ranked in the top three in the school system, including finishing in the top spot my last semester at that school. In my third month at our school, I was named the school's Teacher of the Month for October the first time they gave the award. After a semester of teaching English at LSHS, I was named as the school's first-ever Reading Specialist.

At Lexington High School, I teach English and Reading and am our school's Scholastic Director. I am the faculty advisor of the Chess Team, and am Coach of the Quill writing team. I also serve on the Board of Directors of the NC Association for Scholastic Activities, a group that promotes scholastic competitions in NC high schools, and am the Vice President of that organization. My background and experience is diverse, so I think I'm a perfect fit for Lexington Senior High School!
